Design'in is a scheme encouraging proactive and concrete initiatives which aim to “change existing situations into more preferable ones”. The scheme illustrates regional authorities’ awareness of the role design can play in economic development by transforming excellent ideas into a successful reality.

Since 2007, the scheme has been supporting the best projects from the Pays de la Loire region. The BlueRing concept employs design at every level of its development and has therefore formed a rewarding partnership with the Design'in initiative.

Furthermore as one of the scheme's award-winning participants, BlueRing received research funding towards the application of its innovations.
